Air Tanzania (ATCL) returns to South African Markets through codeshared flights with Interair.

Air Tanzania and  Interair have launched their new service between Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg following a codeshare agreement. 

Interair B737-200 Reg ZS- IJA at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es salaam, being welcomed by ATCL's staff.
Earlier this week Air Tanzania, signed a code share deal with Interair, allowing passengers of the local airline to have three flights a week via Interair between Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg.

The code shared flights are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will be operated by a Boeing 737-200 with 12 passengers in business class and 91 in economy class.  

According to ATCL's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Milton Lazaro, the strategic partnership with Interair is part of an aggressive repositioning of the airline.

In this agreement ATCL's passengers will now be able to travel to and from Johannesburg using Interair's facility. As well Interair’s clients will now be eble to travel toTanzania and vice versa smoothly.

Through this partnership, Interair expects to build a strong brand within East Africa region.

First flight to DAR.

These two machines will be competing on the DAR - JNB route.

Inter Aviation Services Ltd, which trades as Interair South Africa, is a privately owned airline based in Johannesburg, South Africa. It operates scheduled passenger services from Johannesburg to regional destinations in Africa. Its main base is OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

Interair South Africa is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA/IOSA certified), and the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).

Interair currently has a fleet of Boeing 727,737 and 767 aircraft, which provide scheduled services within Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
